Reforming the schools system and
granting increased freedoms to parents and teachers is a key
part of the Coalition Government’s programme. Damian feels
that schools and children are served best when the expertise of
teachers and central role of parents are acknowledged. He would
like every school to have the option to decide which model would
best suit their students.
In a recent meeting of the
Committee, evidence was taken from the Secretary of State
Michael Gove. Damian’s questions focused on the new mechanism
for schools to apply for funding and who they should apply to.
He specifically raised the example of Mill Chase school in East
Hampshire, which was close to securing funding under the
previous system.
If your case is urgent, please email

can be more quickly dealt with direct.
For complex cases on benefits, housing, CSA
and healthcare matters, it may be better to meet face
to face. I hold regular surgeries in Bordon, Alton and
Petersfield, and on a rotation basis around some of the larger
villages. The schedule is on the
Info page of this web site. To book an appointment, please contact Beverley on

As
an MP please note that I am unable to take up issues connected
with planning applications.
